Dace L. Trence, MD, MACE, is a Professor of Medicine- emeritus in the Division of Metabolism, Endocrinology, and Nutrition at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. She is the 2025 AACE President- Elect. She is the immediate past Program Director of the Endocrinology Fellowship at the University of Washington. She has chaired AACE's Cardiometabolic Conference in 2020 and and 2021. She is the immediate past Chair of AACE's Disease State Network Oversight Committee, and past editor of Empower Magazine, AACE’s informational magazine relating to hormonal and metabolic issues, targeted to the lay population. She has published in a number of endocrine journals, including Endocrine Practice, JCEM, Diabetes Care, and Diabetes Educator. She received AACE’s Outstanding Clinical Endocrinologist Award in 2014, the Master of American College of Endocrinology award in 2019, Yank D. Coble, Jr., MD, Distinguished Service Award in 2022.
